Project
Roscommon House
Roscommon House, designed by Neil Cownie, blends mid-century inspiration with modern elements to create a single-story home that connects seamlessly with its garden surroundings. Located in Floreat, the design pays homage to the suburb's modernist and brutalist heritage, integrating vast windows, skylights, and outdoor spaces. The house features raw materials like board-marked concrete and timber, emphasising texture and imperfection, complemented by bespoke furnishings, lighting and fixtures. Designed to maximise natural light, the home features large windows that illuminate the interiors and connect them with the surrounding landscape. In the evening, a sophisticated lighting system comprising recessed and accent lighting creates a warm, inviting atmosphere.
