Sii Light’s latest project was lighting City Beach, one of the most beloved beach destinations here in Perth, Western Australia. This popular location needed a sustainable new lighting solution that could improve both parking safety and energy efficiency, while also preserving the beautiful night sky. Thanks to the Veka from Carandini, a new era of eco-friendly illumination is now in place at the City Beach Car Park.
Veka lights the way in City Beach car parks
A busy location like City Beach needs effective lighting visibility for safe parking and public security, as well as taking into consideration providing environmentally responsible lighting for residents and visitors. For DECOBU, this made the Veka light by Carandini the optimum choice, offering cutting-edge LED technology that also has a Dark Sky IDA mark – certifying their lights protect the environment and dark skies, by providing minimal light spill and focused illumination.
City Beach car parks transformation
Previously, the City Beach Car Park was lit up by high-pressure sodium vapour lamps, which is now an outdated, inefficient and pollutive light source. Integrating Carandini’s Veka LED solution, with electrical engineering by Decobu, lighting design by V-Lambda and the help of experts at BME Solutions, has not only improved visibility and uniformity but also prioritised environmental preservation. The strategic direction of light towards the parking area minimises light pollution in the water and onto the beach itself to protect marine life. The Veka lighting solution by Carandini also has a specialised marine finish option for fortified protection in saline (salt water) environments, ensuring longevity for this beach-side venture.

As well as their renowned Veka lights, the Spin, Mikos, Century, and T-XTREME solutions have all earned the coveted EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) Verified seal. Registered with the International EPD System, these solutions undergo scrutiny from extraction to disposal, aligning with the ISO 14025 standard.
